College prep is now going to be fun! Embark on this challenge during the next year to consider what college you might want to attend, how you will pay for it, what you need to do to impress admissions counselors, where to find scholarships, what skills you need to have when you get to college, and MUCH more.

This is how it works:

1. Register today and you will get access to a virtual classroom where all the challenges will be found. If more than 1 child from your family wants to participate you need to buy a registration for each one and they must each sign up with their own email address

2. On June 1 all the challenges will be released. There will be a LOT! But you don’t have to do them all – pick and choose. You will have until May 15, 2024 to work on them.

3. Included in the cost of registration is free access to our Intro to Google Drive Unit Study worth $20!! This can be started immediately

4. Also included is free access to our ACT Introduction class worth $10. This can be started immediately.

5. Between May 15 and May 31, 2024, the winners will be selected. The overall winner (student with the most points) will receive a $150 check. Many of the assignments will also be sponsored and students will be able to win $15, $25 and $50 Amazon gift cards if theirs is selected as the best. Find the list of sponsors and prizes here.

For more info visit our main High School Challenge page.

Pricing
Until May 31: $20 with code EARLY
Summer pricing until August 31: $25
Regular price from Sept 1: $75

As it is self-paced, students can start at any time – so the earlier you buy, the cheaper it will be!

Some rules:

1. A points tie for the overall winner, will be broken by one of the challenges which will be selected as the tie-breaker. Judging for that will be done by FundaFunda teachers who do not know any of the students involved.

2. ONLY homeschoolers who are  9th through 12th graders in the 2023/24 school year can compete..

3. This contest is only relevant to students in the USA. Prizes can not be sent out of the country and many of the challenges won’t be applicable to students elsewhere.

4. Children of FundaFunda teachers and current FundaFunda teaching assistants are not eligible to enter. Sorry.

Our three teenagers participated in this challenge and it was great to see them really interested in the many challenges given to them. So many useful skills were presented so that high school students can get a taste of preparing for college! Way to go, FundaFunda! Not only did our teens participate in the challenges to win back their $5 entry, one of ours also won the big prize! So much fun! Win-win for everyone! Thanks, also, to the sponsors of the High School Challenge!

Even though my son had already chosen his college, this contest has really been helpful for him to learn so much more that will help prepare him for his first year!

  3. Nicole Moler

This has been an amazing experience for my daughter. She’ll be going into 10th grade this year and she’s learned so much. This challenge has been eye-opening for her, in a great way. She is now prepared and aware of what’s out there and how to go about getting scholarships, financial aid, and so much more. She may be motivated by the prizes, and if she places that’s fantastic, but honestly, the information and exposure she’s gained is worth every second she’s put into it even if she doesn’t win a thing.
If you’re on the fence about participating in this challenge, don’t hesitate! You and your student will learn a lot.

This has been an amazing challenge. Going into my junior year, I knew I had to get started on looking at colleges in depth. The problem was, I didn’t know where to start. With this contest, I was able to realize what I want in a college and some scholarships I can apply for. I’m more confident in my college search because I competed. It’s something every homeschooler should do.

I have to agree that this has been a riveting and exciting contest starting from challenge 1! There have been plentiful amounts of skills that I can honestly say I’ve never even heard of before. This would be a great addition to anyone’s summer! Especially if they’re looking to broaden their knowledge of college/researching concepts.(and on the plus side you can also broaden your wallet.)

  6. Sabrina F.

Two of our children are participating in this challenge. It has been eye-opening to them on what needs to happen to be prepared for college. It has saved me hours of sitting down with them and figuring things out on our own. The challenge is doing it for me! I would recommend this to any high school student (and parents).

This has been a great challenge! I’ve learned lots of useful skills involving finding scholarships, researching/applying for colleges, and things I can do now in high school to prepare for college. I would definitely recommend this to any high school student who’s looking for some extra information on high school and college (and a chance at winning prizes!)
