Description
In the Searching the Night Sky Unit Study, we will explore astronomy through a look at the night sky. Some topics will include: the history of astronomy, life cycle of stars, stargazing tools, and constellations. Students can work through all the assignments in each module – or just the ones they choose (or parents assign).
The four modules will cover the following topics:
Module 1 – Astronomical History
Module 2 – Stargazing Tools
Module 3 – Constellations
Module 4 – Deep Sky Objects
The content in this night sky unit study varies in difficulty so there’s something for everyone! The fun games and interesting facts make it appealing to a variety of ages. This unit study is self-paced. Most of the activities are done online, although there are a few things to do offline (e.g. stargazing).
Recommended age: 4th-8th grade
